The Resource Directory is a partial list of the resources available in our community, and is meant to be a starting point to help you identify services and providers. Please note that Safe+Sound Somerset cannot vouch for any of these resources. Search websites, ask for recommendations from friends and peers, and call or email a potential service provider to decide whether or not something is the right fit for you.

Family Connects NJ
Free service - nurses will conduct home visits to support parents. They will assess the health of both the parents and the newborn and offer valuable information during this important transition. Covered areas can include feeding and sleeping tips, connecting parents to helpful resources in their community, or assisting families recovering from the tragedy of stillbirth. Services are available to birth, adoptive, and resource families with a newborn as well as parents experiencing a stillbirth or loss of their newborn.

Goryeb Children’s Hospital Transgender Health Program
The Pediatric Endocrinology team has extensive experience working with transgender and gender diverse youth (TGD). They provide extensive consultation, pubertal blockers, and gender-affirming hormone therapy for TGD youth less than 18 years old.

HOPES Community Action Partnership, Inc.
Variety of community services for 3 counties including Somerset. Free assistance for income-eligible residents. Headstart childcare, health enrollment insurance, SNAP and NJ Healthcare enrollment, senior benefits enrollment, computer lab, info and assistance, language translation services, health screenings and referrals, energy and water payment assistance, discount cell phone program (SafeLink). Hunterdon Healthcare – LGBTQIA services
Hunterdon Health welcomes Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual (LGBTQIA) patients and families. The Hunterdon Health network consists of nearly 400 physicians in Hunterdon, Somerset, Mercer, Warren and Morris counties. Many have expertise in LGBTQ+ health and welcome new patients.
