The Resource Directory is a partial list of the resources available in our community, and is meant to be a starting point to help you identify services and providers. Please note that Safe+Sound Somerset cannot vouch for any of these resources. Search websites, ask for recommendations from friends and peers, and call or email a potential service provider to decide whether or not something is the right fit for you.

Services for families and individuals, impacted by trauma. Focus on substance use and mental health. Childcare is onsite for CGE clients.
Central Jersey Family Health Consortium
Wide range of services to improve the health of women of childbearing age, infants, and children; virtual support groups and webinars
Child Health Clinics sponsored by Community Visiting Nurses Association
Free clinics for Somerset County residents that provide well baby check-ups and immunizations for babies, toddlers, and children who attend school 18 and under. Families without health insurance can access this service. Check website for town restrictions.
Community Child Care Solutions – Somerset County Office
Connecting families to childcare resources and parent education. Community Child Care Solution’s Somerville office is distributing free diapers to Somerset County residents on the first Monday of every month. Diapers are on a first come, first serve basis. Please fill out the form on the website (English or Spanish) or come into our office to fill it out for your free diapers.
Family Health Line from NJ Department of Health
Information and referrals for health screening and treatment including reproductive health and pregnancy, vaccines, cancer, etc.
Healthy Women, Healthy Families at Central Jersey Family Health Consortium
Connecting parents/caregivers and parents to health and educational resources, with case management. Serves Mercer, Middlesex, Somerset and Hunterdon counties.
HOPES Community Action Partnership, Inc.
Variety of community services for 3 counties including Somerset. Free assistance for income-eligible residents. Headstart childcare, health enrollment insurance, SNAP and NJ Healthcare enrollment, senior benefits enrollment, computer lab, info and assistance, language translation services, health screenings and referrals, energy and water payment assistance, discount cell phone program (SafeLink). Second location in Somerset County: Belmont Center, 113 Belmont Drive Somerset, NJ 08873. Several locations in Plainfield and Hoboken.
Improved Pregnancy Outcome Program – Hunterdon County
Free, confidential services for pregnant Hunterdon County residents - see online brochure for eligibility. Includes Adolescent Pregnancy Project (specific support for this age group).
Moms Helping Moms
Providing low income families with essential baby items - especially diapers.
NORWESCAP Woman, Infants, and Children (WIC) -Somerset County Center
Parents can apply - provides food for women, infants and children up to age 5 with additional supportive health services.
Parent and Pregnancy Virtual Support Groups – Central Jersey Family Health Consortium
Support groups change periodically -check website or call for current groups and access information. Breastfeeding, new mothers, etc.

Affordable health services for adults and teens of all genders, including birth control -Emergency Contraceptive Pill available all open hours -Walk-in appts. often available; call 1-800-230-PLAN for more information

Affordable health services for adults and teens of all genders, including birth control. If you need emergency contraception (AKA the morning after pill), you can walk in anytime they're open. For many services, walk-in visits are available. For more information, call 1-800-230-PLAN.

Distressed parents who wish to give up an unwanted infant anonymously and legally, with no fear of arrest or prosecution, can call this hotline
