The Resource Directory is a partial list of the resources available in our community, and is meant to be a starting point to help you identify services and providers. Please note that Safe+Sound Somerset cannot vouch for any of these resources. Search websites, ask for recommendations from friends and peers, and call or email a potential service provider to decide whether or not something is the right fit for you.

Catholic Charities – Bridgewater Family Service Center
Variety of services for families, individuals and youth including crisis intervention for youth. Also includes early Head Start and Head Start daycare - check website for info
Center for Great Expectations
Services for families and individuals, impacted by trauma. Focus on substance use and mental health. Childcare is onsite for CGE clients.
Community Child Care Solutions – Somerset County Office
Connecting families to childcare resources and parent education. Also offers: free child developmental screenings, interactive events including virtual parent cafes, and more. Community Child Care Solution’s Somerville office distributes free diapers to Somerset County residents on the first Monday of every month. Diapers are on a first come, first serve basis. Please fill out the form on the website (English or Spanish) or come into the office.
Connecting NJ at Central Jersey Family Health Consortium
Program for: Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, and Somerset County families. Links pregnant people, parents, and caregivers with young children to free or low-cost family wellness resources (health insurance, doulas, medical providers and care, housing, child care, early childhood programs, home visits, etc.). Organization also has a wide range of services (including Monmouth and Ocean counties).

HOPES Community Action Partnership, Inc.
Variety of community services for 3 counties including Somerset. Free assistance for income-eligible residents. Headstart childcare, health enrollment insurance, SNAP and NJ Healthcare enrollment, senior benefits enrollment, computer lab, info and assistance, language translation services, health screenings and referrals, energy and water payment assistance, discount cell phone program (SafeLink). Second location in Somerset County: Belmont Center, 113 Belmont Drive Somerset, NJ 08873. Several locations in Plainfield and Hoboken.
Martin Luther King Youth Center, Inc.
Afterschool, tutoring, and summer camp for Bound Brook and S. BB, Manville, Hillsborough, Somerville, and Bridgewater, ages 5-13.

Office of Family Support Services – NJ
Promotes the social well-being and strengthening of children, families, and communities. Includes: Family Success Centers, Family Support Organizations, Grandparents and Relatives Raising Children (Kinship Navigator), Parent Anonymous, Statewide Parent Advocacy Network.
Plainfield YMCA
Wide range of services - see tags and website for info. This location has summer camp and school age child care (grades K-5) for after school, a monthly charge.
Princeton YMCA
Wide range of services - see tags and website for info. This location has summer camp and school age child care for Montgomery grades 1-6 (before and after school).
Somerset Community Action Program
Services for low to moderate income individuals. SCAP offers year round high quality full day childcare for infants through pre-k. Full day summer camp is available for school age students 6-13 years old. Subsidies are available through Community Childcare Solutions.
