Agape House provides emergency shelter for homeless families with children, single men and single women. Clients can stay at the shelter as long as it takes for them to get back on their feet. The Arman Roy Technology Center (ART Center) at Brahma possesses a 25-person seating capacity. The ART Center functions both as the centerpiece of Visions and Pathways STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) program, and as academic resource room where residents can get help with schoolwork. The ART Center features a Smart Board, classroom desks, a 3D printer, and desktops at computer banks for residential use. When completed, it will also feature electronic gaming and Virtual Reality headsets. Ultimately, V&P desires to expand and offer services to the greater community.

After a report of child abuse or neglect is filed, DCP&P sends a case worker to the child's home to initiate the investigation. The case worker gathers information by speaking to you and members of your household. Case workers can also assist with basic needs, child and baby items, etc. *Every adult in NJ is a mandatory reporter. If someone knows of or suspects child abuse or neglect, they must report to DCPP at 1-877-652-2873 (can be fined otherwise).

Crisis counseling for people in emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster

Early Intervention Support Services (EISS), funded by the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) and available in all counties, is a short term, mental health service for adults who are experiencing significant emotional or psychiatric distress and are in need of immediate intervention. EISS offers crisis intervention and crisis stabilization services in a setting that is an alternative to hospital based emergency room treatment. Outreach (non-office based) services are available. While appointments are not required for initial visits, we strongly recommend contacting the provider in advance to ensure the best possible experience.

This service through Catholic Charities provides shelter for 16 single women and 26 families. Services include temporary and emergency lodging, meals, assistance with housing, employment and children's educational placement, case management and referrals. While living in the shelter, program residents work with case managers to improve their earning capacity and obtain permanent housing.

Residential transitional living programs for eleven males and eleven females, ages 16 to 21 who continue to need support services as they “age out” of the foster care system. While they are in residence, they attend school and hold a part-time job. They also learn independent-living skills such as food preparation, financial literacy, finding housing and employment – tools to equip them to live independently when they leave.

Projects for Assistance in Transition from Homelessness (PATH) provides case management services to people with mental illness who are homeless or at imminent risk of homelessness. The program works with Somerset County residents and links them to mental health, entitlements, and housing.

PCC is an analytical, focused, goal oriented, and needs based clinical intervention that addresses emotional and behavioral challenges of youth with moderate to high needs. It may be provided in a youth’s home or in an amenable community location by a licensed behavioral health clinician and is intended to stabilize and support the youth and family to deter more intensive interventions. This is a short-term, solution focused intervention that addresses presenting behaviors resulting in the youth and their family/care giver/guardian gaining insight and improving function at home and in the community.

For 24/7 intensive care for mental illness, substance use disorder, or both, Princeton House inpatient offers treatment for adults. They also offer intensive outpatient care for children (starting at 5th grade) and adults. Programs are between nine and 30 hours per week and may be offered in person at one of five locations, or via telehealth.
