LifeTies Mentoring for Youth (Mercer, Camden, or Gloucester County)

The LifeTies Mentoring program pairs youth with trained volunteer mentors with the goal to provide the presence of caring adults for youth. Pairing youth with a mentor can support a path to a safe and healthy future. Through Center for Family Services. Services are available to support a variety of needs, including: -youth aged 10-21 (living in Mercer County) who are at-risk or have a minor offense in the juvenile justice system; -youth ages 10-21 in the LGBTQIA+ community; -youth aged 10-17 (living in Camden or Gloucester Counties) who lost a loved one to overdose or youth who have a loved one affected by substance use; -youth aged 10-17 living in Camden City; -youth in the Camden City School District (this opportunity is for school district staff).

Personal Assistance Services Program (PASP)

Through Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services: assists those with permanent physical disabilities maintain their highest level of independence while remaining active in the community. PASP is designed to provide individuals 18 years of age or older with physical disabilities with choice, flexibility, control, and the opportunity to tailor their personal care services through a monthly budget.

Somerset Community Action Program

Services for low to moderate income individuals. SCAP offers year round high quality full day childcare for infants through pre-k. Full day summer camp is available for school age students 6-13 years old. Subsidies are available through Community Childcare Solutions.

Workforce Learning Link

Provides free assistance to eligible New Jersey residents 16 years of age and older who are not enrolled in school and are legally able to work in the U.S. Program participants can: -Get assistance with high school diploma attainment, including help with studying and testing. -Upgrade their skills to enter an occupational training or post-secondary education program. -Enhance their basic literacy and computer skills to obtain or maintain employment.
