Safe + Sound Somerset is in search of dynamic and innovative candidates for our Board of Trustees. Safe + Sound Somerset strives to support and promote excellence in board service and is the premier source of cutting-edge thinking and resources related to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Our Board of Trustees is comprised of leaders from the for-profit and social impact sectors who are dedicated to our mission to create a community free from domestic and sexual violence. As the preeminent resource on interpersonal violence in Somerset County, Safe + Sound Somerset strives to be a model of governance and philanthropic excellence.

In addition to the standard roles and responsibilities of a board member, our board members are active advocates and ambassadors for the organization and are fully engaged in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for Safe + Sound Somerset to advance its mission. Those with expertise in Human Resources, Business Development/Sales, IT and Finance as well as those with lived experience are a priority for our volunteer leadership team.

Safe + Sound Somerset believes everyone has a right to a life free from violence. Our trauma-informed, evidence-based programs provide survivors of domestic and sexual violence with support and tools they need to reclaim their power and control to build independent lives free from abuse. Our services help to create safety, build hope, and empower healing for adult and child survivors of abuse.

As the lead organization for domestic and sexual violence in Somerset County for more than 40 years, Safe + Sound Somerset is in search of the next leaders that will propel the organization to the next level of creating safety, hope and healing for survivors into the 21st century.
