Deirdre Blaus Joins Board of Trustees

Safe+Sound Somerset is pleased to announce the appointment of, Deirdre Blaus, Vice President of Operations at RWJBarnabas Health – Somerset, to our Board of Trustees.

“Our Board of Trustees is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders’ commitment to serving survivors and engaging the community in our mission to end domestic, dating and sexual in our community,” said Michele E. Boronkas, President and CEO or Safe+Sound Somerset. “We are excited to channel Deirdre’s talent, expertise and energy into furthering our mission.”

Deirdre Blaus, Vice President of Operations at RWJUH Somerset, leads the daily operations of the 333-bed community hospital and affiliated off-site departments, ensuring the delivery of high quality, efficient, patient-centered care with a focus on improving workflow, staff engagement, and overall financial performance of the organization. Deirdre is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves as a board member for RIDEWISE and Finance Chair for the Clinton Presbyterian Church.

Deirdre’s familiarity with Safe+ has come from the hospital’s involvement with the organization, especially as a referral path for patients that who have experienced domestic or sexual violence. “From my lens, this is an organization that truly has significant impact to the individuals of our community and the community at-large,” Deirdre says of her new role. “As I think about how I can improve the community I serve in a meaningful way, Safe+Sound Somerset is the ideal organization for me to invest my time and resources. The organization supports all humans, regardless of their characteristics and its work has real impact on the residents of this community every day.”
